UNWFP Program – Caucasus

Georgian Trans Expedition has been serving UN within the World Food Programme (WFP) project since 2005. Throughout this period, the Company has stored approximately 95 500 m/t and transported approximately 160 000 tons of Humanitarian Cargo (Wheat Flour, Soybean Oil, Vegetable Oil, Bean, Lentil, and Sugar). The main destinations were Georgia (Poti, Tbilisi, Gori) Azerbaijan (Baku) and Armenia (Yerevan).

 

UNOMIG Vehicles and other general cargo transportation

In August-October 2009, Georgian Trans Expedition together with the leading international freight forwarding company – Agility Projects, have won the tender of The United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG), on the transportation of various types of vehicles (including special purpose trucks) and other general cargo to various destinations in Africa and the Middle East. The first stage of the project involved the transportation of 35 units vehicles, from which 26 units were special purpose trucks (out of gauge). The second stage of the project involves the transportation of 15 vehicles and 12 containers of mixed cargo. Besides that, the project includes the air shipment of out of gauge cargo to Kathmandu (total freight of cargo aircraft with capacity of 12 ton).

 

The Construction Projects in Turkmenistan

As the service provider of various construction companies, GEORGIAN TRANS EXPEDITION has performed shipment of construction materials to Turkmenistan. In 2008-2009, around 250 000 ton of various constructions materials have been processed in port of Poti, mostly steel bars, cement in big bags, pipes, metal-constructions and other.

 

Georgia-US Military Training – Immediate Response 2008, Tbilisi, Georgia

In July-August 2008, US and Georgian Ministries of Defense executed the mutual military training in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Logistics of this project was implemented by Georgian Trans Expedition. The Company transported 212 units of Military Transport Needs and 166 containers. The main challenge in this project was the most strict requirements (safety and operational) from the US Ministry of Defense, which were perfectly matched by the Georgian Trans Expedition staff. As a proof of that, the US Ministry of Defense issued an Appreciation Memorandum.

 

The transportation of the Oil Rig from Manavi, Georgia to Baku, Azerbaijan

In the beginning of 2007, Georgian Trans Expedition transported the Oil Rig from its location in Manavi, Georgia to Baku, Azerbaijan. The major challenge with the project was the very poor infrastructure (road) to the location of the Oil Rig. Besides that, our company managed to fulfill the project in the given deadlines without any significant malfunctions and errors.

 

Georgian Water Supply Company pipes transportation

Georgian Trans Expedition is planning to transport the pipes of Georgian Water Supply Company from Lilo Base, Tbilisi, Georgia to Avtshala Base, Tbilisi, Georgia. The overall quantity of the pipes is 351 units, with the total weight of 1 288 tons. Based on the fact that the road to Avtshala Base is in a very poor condition, GTE intends to make reconstruction of it. Also, GTE is planning to reconstruct the warehouse premises of the Georgian Water Supply Company.

 

Pipes transportation for construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum Transcaspian gas pipeline.
In 2002-2005 for above 2 projects Georgian Trans Expedition transported over million tons of cargo – different kind and size pipelines.

 

USA-Uzbekistan Food Programme
In 1998-2001 for above mentioned project Georgian Trans Expedition transported 1.7 million tones of cargo – mainly soybeans and rice.
